WCC run a very successful Log Transport Cadet programme.

We offer multiple cadetships every year, with the aim of bringing new people into the industry through structured training and an opportunity to gain experience as they work.

This could include working  our Heavy Haulage division as a load pilot and assisting with loading and unloading a wide range of machinery to numerous forestry and construction sites in the Nelson / Marlborough regions. Doing this is a good introduction to the forestry industry.

Over a 1 to 2 year period, we help cadets gain Class 2 load pilot certification, W,T,R licences, and Class 2, 4 + 5 licences as they progress towards to becoming a full time Log truck driver in our Logging division.

The requirements are a full class 1 license and a willingness to get stuck in and learn about the industry.

We currently have cadets working in our Heavy Haulage division and in our Workshop.

Contact us of you are interested in finding out more about this opportunity.
